The company’s formation goes back to 1996, when localization was in its infancy. JTI’s initial focus was on assisting IT companies with localizing their software into Asian languages (double-byte characters). Microsoft was the company’s first consulting client.

Over the years JTI’s client list has grown substantially and the services offered have grown in tandem. By focusing on becoming our clients’ partners rather than their vendors, JTI evolved its services from a IT consulting firm, to an end-to-end localization company, including multilingual multimedia, and has now become a true Global Solutions Provider.

As a Global Solutions Provider, JTI is able to analyze and evaluate your global needs and provide the best solution for your company to successfully work in the international marketplace.

Leadership

Maarten Fleurke, CEO

Maarten co-founded JTI together with COO Steven Chen. Over the years, the company has grown from a “classic” L10n company (or Language Localization) to a global Multilingual Multimedia firm, with offices across the globe.

Maarten started his career with John Deere, after earning his MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management. After living and working for Deere in the US, Europe and the Middle East, he returned to California, where he founded a technology trading company.

In 1995, he was recruited to become the North-American President of a German-owned manufacturing company. Five years later he saw the opportunity to get involved in Localization, which eventually led to the birth of JTI.

Maarten lives in Virginia Beach with his wife of 28 years. They have two grown daughters.

Steven Chen, COO

Steven Chen’s introduction to the localization industry started with Jubilee Tech International, right after earning his Masters Degree in Communication with an emphasis on Media Management from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA.

Through the years, Steven’s expertise grew as the industry matured, taking him from 1993’s focus on software development, to desktop publishing, to multi-media management, and most recently, eLearning!

Steven currently lives in Virginia Beach.
