New Headquarters for JTI

A Short Move Signals Exciting Times for JTI

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – December 12, 2008 – JTI finds the perfect office to handle its rapid expansion at 2568 Precision Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23454; operating activities already underway at the new location. Since 2003 JTI has experienced significant growth, making the need for a new location all but inevitable. The new 4,200 sq ft office building will allow for continued growth and there is enough land for further expansion of the building, when the need arises.

When asked what the new office meant for JTI, Maarten Fleurke, CEO and co-founder said “the new office is affirmation that our commitment to our customers is the right way to grow a business and will allow for even faster expansion than we’ve experienced over the last five years. Our team is excited about the move; it will be great both for JTI and our clients.”

JTI moved to the new office on November 7th. Feel free to contact us at the our new office.

ASIS Conference - September 15th

ATLANTA, Ga. – September 15-18, 2008 - The ASIS International 2008, 54th Annual Seminar & Exposition held in the Georgia World Congress Center and attended by twenty-five thousand colleagues and business associates.

The conference was an extremely informative time for all those who were able to participate and as always, the good people of ASIS did a great job with the event’s programming. This year’s theme was “What Are You Willing to Risk?”; there was a real focus on not only the challenges companies face domestically or internally, but also the threats that companies and organizations are facing globally. The event itself was truly global with vendors and attendees from all parts of the world sharing information and ideas on a wide range of topics.

JTI has been a partner for leading companies in the security industry for over five years. During that time they’ve helped their clients with everything from translation of manuals for security cameras to end-to-end software localization for security platform software. Events like ASIS International 2008 help JTI stay abreast of the changes in this ever evolving industry.

A heartfelt thanks from JTI to all those that made the ASIS 2008 Conference a positive experience!

ASTD | 2008

Training and Learning at an International Level

SAN DIEGO, California - June 6, 2008 - The 2008 annual ASTD International Conference & Exposition has come and gone and JTI was glad to have been able to experience it. Held in the beautiful city of San Diego, the ASTD 2008 International Conference lived up to its reputation of being the premier event for workplace learning and performance professionals. Adam Eling, Account Manager for JTI said “the conference was a wonderful experience. Being able to meet and talk to our current clients and friends and meeting new people and prospects was well worth the trip.”

The ASTD conference boasts thousands of attendees, with international attendees from over 70 countries. A conference with that large of an international presence is always enjoyable for a globalization company. Love of international cultures is at the heart of JTI’s business and seeing companies and individuals from different countries interact with each other on the platform of learning and education is quite special. We were happy to gain even further insight into an industry [eLearning and training] that is already a major part of our business. Events like the ASTD conference allow us to continually adapt to where the industry is heading.

Next year’s conference will be held in Washington D.C., which is much closer to JTI’s corporate headquarters in Norfolk, VA. We would like to thank everyone that made our company’s visit to the ASTD conference worthwhile. We hope to see you at the next ASTD event!

eLearning Guild 2008 Annual Conference

JTI Attends the eLearning Guild 2008 Annual Conference

ORLANDO, Florida – April 22, 2008 - There are many attractions in Orlando, Florida and last week, one of them happened to be JTI’s booth and the gourmet coffee provided there. It was JTI’s first eLearning Guild event and ended up being a very worthwhile experience. The chance to speak with dozens of people representing every industry and area was energizing. It is wonderful as a globalization company to be able to talk with someone from the University of Berkley and Edward Jones as well as representatives from Soleduc and The Learning Group, eLearning companies from Chile and Australia. It really says something about the breadth of people, companies, and countries represented at the conference.

JTI held a concurrent session on Wednesday, the 16th of April. The session covered the difficulties and complexities that arise when taking eLearning content global. It was nice to share our eLearning globalization knowledge and experience in an open forum. We hope it was of benefit to all who attended. JTI would like to give thanks to all those who stopped by and shared their interest in globalization or their interest in our coffee; you helped make our stay enjoyable and successful!

Look for us at future eLearning events like the DevLearn conference November 11-14 in San Jose.

JTI Localizes Entire Microsoft Office Suite

Completion of multilingual eLearning localization for entire Microsoft Office Suite

NORFOLK, Va. - Spring 2008 - JTI recently completed localization of Microsoft Office Suite for a prominent eLearning company. Microsoft Office Suite was translated into four different languages, each with their own translation/localization, audio production, and in depth review and QA.

After months of in depth analysis, translation, localization, and consultation JTI is happy to say they have completed their project that consisted of nearly four million words and over five-hundred hours of audio production. This project was localized from English into Japanese, German, French, and Simplified Chinese.

JTI’s COO Steven Chen said that a project of this size and scale can be somewhat tiring, but also very rewarding. The most rewarding part for him was “being able to help a client gain understanding of new markets and cultures. We really help our clients prepare themselves and their products for the global marketplace.”

“When a Localization company undertakes a project of this size and scope, they really must make sure they have the correct assets and resources. JTI accredits the success of this project to the large amount of in-country linguists, worldwide studios (in China, Turkey, and the Netherlands), in depth knowledge of XML, as well as a very team oriented approach” said JTI’s CEO Maarten Fleurke.

JTI has been doing localization for over 12 years and boasts a highly experienced staff with hundreds of in-country translators as well as voice talent around the globe. Currently JTI has offices in Singapore, Chennai-India, Cairo-Egypt, Shenzen-China, Renkum- Netherlands, and their corporate headquarters is located in Norfolk, Virginia.
